Mods are.Įvac all (doesnt really apply but just a really nice mod) It's unfair, but it's still a good game, just in a different way. Load up xcom, can't hit a 12 foot 500kg robot with a shotgun from 6 metres away. I steamrolled through Pillars 2 with no previous understanding of the mechanics or classes, which are much deeper, without losing more than 2 or 3 fights on the on hard. XCOM is all about being outclassed, it always was, but I think they went a bit overboard this time for many people.ĭivinty 2 can be pretty brutal as well, but that comes down to what gear you've managed to get and how well you can actually apply yourself, 4vs4 fighst could last 20 mins, most of the annoyance here seems to come from mechanics and being fisted with notifications and events. I defienlty don't think the game is broken but it certainly has a few issues and oversights, probably ones that people can fix to their own tastes.

Maybe try a mod that drops more weapon enhancements, more mod slots and turn the difficulty down. I know what you mean, compared to a lot of other games of the genre it feels like it won't let you get anything done, probably because the upgrades are wide and not deep. I'd set up Killzone, and they wouldn't budge, so I got a mod that made overwatch ignore concealment, and it made the game 10x more fun, as it was easier and more fun planning overwatch ambushes. I found it dumb how a Ranger with a concealment perk would NEVER join the overwatch ambush if concealed. You won't inherently ruin the balance, and might even actually balance out the game. If you're playing WotC, keep in mind that flanking invisible enemies will reveal them (this information will come in handy, I promise!)įinally, if you aren't enjoying an aspect of the game, please mod it. With the right set of weapons, armor, equipment, and teammates, there is absolutely nothing that will stop you. Sharpshooters are very underwhelming in the early game, but they become gods of death capable of utterly annihilating entire pods regardless of composition in the late game. Never use your yellow moves or last moves to move into new territory, this will only end with you killed. If you're revealing new territory, ALWAYS make sure you have more than enough moves to appropriately deal with a new pod that you will inevitably activate. They're also excellent at destroying cover for easy flanks. Use grenades liberally, do not try to save them, the best time to use them is now.

An ADVENT Trooper will still have a 40% chance to hit you in low cover and a 25% chance when you're in full cover. Just chipping in (wish I could say more but have an exam in a bit lol)Īll cover does is increase your defense rating. Nades is the best the tip I would think of. Grenades deals guaranteed damage, radius that can damage more than one enemy, can blow cars to add more damage to enemies hiding behind them, shreds armor and destroy covers. I would like to add one simple thing, wich is also a mistake I made : Throw nades ! Too many times I saved my nades ''just in case I would really need em'' and ending up finishing the mission with still alot of grenades in inventories. This game is amazing when you figure stuff out :) The Avatar counter shouldn't stress you out. Get contact with a few countries, preferably towards a facility.

I try getting armor after getting the first weapon upgrade in research if i canĭon't rush the main story. Having one ranger with Phantom for scouting is very valuable Get GTS and AWC pretty early in the base for healing rate and squad size upgrade Grenade everything, if you get two grenadiers, use them If you can, get high ground for bonus aim Originally posted by Wrarrl:Some tips what i try to do early game:
